Trimco Product Information:
TrimGuard Antimicrobial Coating

TrimGuard is Trimco’s version of an antimicrobial coating that is made using Agion ™coated stainless steel. This coating has been proven to provide a wide range of protection from and to prevent the growth of bacteria, mold and even mildew. Trimguard should be specified and utilized on all stainless steel push and pull plates, bars, or any surface where a sanitary condition is desirable.

What is TrimGuard?
TrimGuard is a coating that is provided to us using Agion Technologies ™ silver based antimicrobial science to produce an entirely new protective finish that minimizes the growth of bacteria on all stainless steel surfaces that are used for public access on a daily basis.

How does it work?
The Agion antimicrobial compound is an inorganic material that employs silver to provide the protection. Encapsulated silver ions are slowly released from the compound to the treated surface. The released ions interact with microorganisms that are on the surface. It is also a protective shield against many strains of bacteria, yeast, fungi and molds.

Testing and Studies
Tests show that Agion ™ antimicrobial protective coatings have proven to be effective in the reduction of bacterial growth on push plates in a hospital environment.

How is it applied? How long will it last?
A special spray coating process by qualified coating technicians is applied to the item. It can be applied to any stainless steel surface. Trimco only specifies Agion ™ products for this process. This coating will remain effective as long as the coated item is in service. It will not discolor the stainless steel, and can be serviced and cleaned by normal hospital and institutional methods.

Is it approved by known testing entities?
Yes. Agion™ antimicrobial technology has been tested and determined to be safe for food contact applications. It is EPA registered, certified for use by the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation), and is listed by the FDA.

With the increasing levels of extremely harmful strains of bacteria, and the so-called super bugs of today, it would be in the best interest of hospitals, restaurants, and anywhere there are public bathrooms, operation rooms, food preparation areas, assisted care, and virtually all places that harmful bacteria may be found to specify TRIMGUARD.
